Start guide
Begin with one person.
Arju becomes useful with one name and one detail worth remembering. You do not need to build a complete address book before it can help.

Install
Choose the version for your device
Arju is designed for macOS, Windows, iPhone, iPad and Android. Open the Download page, choose your platform and follow the installer or store instructions shown there.
Your Arju library is held on the device where you create it. Treat each installation as its own private library unless the release you are using explicitly offers a transfer option.
First person
Add a name, then add context
Open People and choose Add person. A name is enough. You can add a relationship label, organisation, role, birthday, phone number, email address or notes later as they become useful.
Choose Import contacts if you want a quicker start. Arju explains the request before the operating system permission appears. Imported contact details become local Arju profiles and Arju does not edit the source contact in your phone or computer.
- Open People.
- Choose Add person or Import contacts.
- Review possible duplicates instead of accepting a silent merge.
- Open the new profile and add one detail that will help the next conversation.
Add Hassini, set the relationship to Friend and remember that she is moving to Bristol in September. That one detail is enough to make the profile useful.
First action
Plan a thoughtful follow-up
Create a task from Today, Tasks or the person profile. Link it to the person so the reason for the reminder stays beside their context.
Use a due date when timing matters and a reminder only when you want a notification. A task without a date remains in Anytime until you schedule or complete it.
Ask Hassini how the house search is going next Friday. Link the task to Hassini, choose Friday and add a reminder for that morning.
First capture
Write one ordinary sentence
Capture sits near the top of Today. Write as you would write a note to yourself. Arju turns the sentence into editable drafts, then waits for you to review them.
Nothing is added to People, Tasks, Notes, Dates or Timeline until you confirm the review. If the draft is not right, edit it, remove one item or cancel the capture.
Call @Ridhu Friday at 3pm about her new role. Arju drafts a task linked to Ridhu with Friday at 3pm as the due time.
A useful rhythm
Keep the routine small
Check Today for what needs attention, capture useful context while it is fresh, and open a person before you contact them. At the end of the day, use Diary when you want a private reflection rather than a practical note.
Arju works best as a place to prepare and remember. You do not need to complete every field or turn every conversation into a record.
