Current position

Arju and Vercel have separate roles

Arju stores one browser record containing your necessary, analytics and personalisation choices. Vercel hosts and delivers the website and may set its own cookies or similar browser records for deployment authentication, security challenges, preview tooling and other configured platform functions.

Some Vercel functions are strictly necessary for secure delivery or access. Other measurement or preference functions are treated according to their purpose and configuration. The consent control keeps Arju’s optional categories off until you choose them.

Definitions

Cookies and similar storage

A cookie is a small value a website asks a browser to store and return. Similar technologies include local storage, software development kits, pixels and other methods that store information on, or access information from, a device.

Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, clear information and active consent are normally required before non-essential technologies run. A narrow exception applies where a technology is strictly necessary to provide a service the visitor requested.

Fonts

A request is not a cookie

Google Fonts receives an ordinary web request when the typeface files load. That request includes network information such as IP address and browser headers, but Google states that the Fonts Web API does not set or log cookies. The website privacy notice explains this processing because network information can still be personal information even without a cookie.

Hosting

Necessary security stays narrow

Vercel hosts and protects the site. Its deployment authentication can set a cookie for a protected URL. Its firewall may create a one-hour browser challenge session after a visitor passes a security check. These technologies allow the requested deployment to be delivered securely and are not controlled by the optional analytics toggle.

Vercel also provides preview tooling and feature-flag controls that may store preferences when those tools are used. Production visitors will not normally encounter preview-only tooling. We review the live deployment and this register when the Vercel configuration changes.

Consent control

Accept and reject take the same effort

The banner offers Reject optional, Choose cookies and Accept optional as equally available actions. Analytics and personalisation start off. Necessary technology remains on because it records and respects the choice or allows Arju and Vercel to deliver, authenticate and protect the requested page.

A choice is kept for 180 days. You can reopen Cookie settings from every page footer and replace it at any time. Refusing optional technology does not block the core website.

Your controls

Inspect or clear browser data

Use Cookie settings in the footer to change the stored choice. Most browsers also let you view or delete cookies and site data. Deleting the Arju consent record makes the banner ask again on your next visit.

Deleting necessary Vercel cookies can sign you out of a protected deployment or cause a security challenge to run again. Browser settings do not stop every network request. For example, Vercel hosting requests and externally hosted fonts can still involve network information even where no cookie is used.
